American Legion Papillion Post 32

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.. It is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. The American Legion Post 32 Family in Papillion, Nebraska, support our communities youth, organize charity fundraisers, provide comfort items to veterans living in Nebraska veterans homes, participate in local parades and ceremonies and honor fallen comrades at funerals and memorial events.

The success of Post 32 depends on our family members active participation. We are so very proud of all we've accomplished in the past and are excited about future opportunities. The communities of Papillion and LaVista are wonderful partners in our endeavors and we are sincerely appreciative of their support.

American Legion Auxiliary

The mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of veterans, the military and their families, both at home and abroad. Through various programs, the Auxiliary also educates citizens, mentors youth, and promotes patriotism, citizenship, peace and security.

Harry Bossard American Legion Post 32 formally recognizes in its Constitution the American Legion Auxiliary, officially known as "Unit 32, The American Legion Auxiliary". The Auxiliary conducts amazing services and support functions for Post 32 and the surrounding communities. The Auxiliary meets each second Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at the Post 32 Hall. The Auxiliary provides key support to the Legion Post 32 staff for funeral & Celebration of Life events. In addition, the Auxiliary supports Papillion Days, Poppy Days, the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, Sarpy County Government Day, the children's Christmas party, the Gold Star ceremony, and many more events. The American Legion Post 32 Auxiliary is proud to sponsor three $500 scholarships annually which are awarded to graduating high school seniors. We award one (1) each to Papillion-LaVista North High School and Papillion-LaVista South High School. Recipients must be attending a college in Nebraska. A third scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has American Legion Post 32 affiliations. The recipient of this scholarship need not attend a college in Nebraska. Legion affiliation means you are the son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of someone who has an active membership in Post 32.
